The King’s Road is a historical route
dating back to the 9th century. Passing along the southern
coast of Finland it formed
an important connection between the powerful kingdoms of Sweden
and Russia. Following the King’s Road is a virtual journey
through the pages of time and history. Old stone churches, iron
mills, and powerful estates, and believe it or not taverns and
inns that offered refuge to the weary travelers are still intact.
It is difficult to imagine that the Vikings were the original travelers
on this road between 800 and 1050.
