Adult Hiking in Norway

The mountains, fjords and glaciers of Norway have always been a highlight of any Scandinavian adventure. Seldom is time allowed to truly enjoy the serenity and beauty of the fjord and mountain country. Here is your opportunity to discover the Norway few visitors experience

Day 1 Depart from Oslo by rental car traveling northwest to Lillehammer for a lunch stop and a visit to the Olympic arenas of 1994. Continue north into the Gudbrandsdal Valley to Kvam at the foot of Rondane National Park and accommodation in the Rondablikk Mountain Hotel.

Day 2 With a lunch pack begin a seven hour hike including Furu Lake, Glitter Valley, and Rondeslottet before returning to the hotel for overnight accommodation.

Day 3 Departing from Rondablikk proceed to Otta, then to Lom. In Lom visit the Stave Church and Mountain Museum and/or the Mineral exhibition. After this visit continue into the Boverdalen Valley for dinner and overnight accommodation in the beautiful Elveseter Hotel.

Day 4 By car to Juvasshytta to join a guided tour to “Piggen” due to crossing the glacier a guide will be required for this hike. The duration of the hike is approximately six hours before returning to the Elveseter Hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 5 After breakfast and with a packed lunch check out of the hotel and drive along the Sognefjell Mountain Road the highest official road in Norway. It is possible to hike along this road with a view of the massive Jotunhaimen National Park, Breheimen and the Jostedal Glacier. Descend to fjord level along the King of the Fjords the Sognefjord on to Luster and the Nes Farm B&B Home Stay for overnight accommodation.

Day 6 With a lunch pack drive into the Jostedalen Valley for a visit to the Nigard Glacier and the Glacier Center. Leaving the car a 4-5 hour hike will bring you back to the Nes Farm. In the evening after dinner return to pick up the car assisted by the hotel staff.

Day 7 Today is a transportation day driving along the fjords via Kaupanger and one of the most beautiful ferry rides in Norway on the Sognefjord and Nærøyfjord fjords to Gudvangen for overnight accommodation in the Fjordtel.

Day 8 Continue driving toward Voss and if you wish an opportunity to drive the famous circular and steep Stalheimskleivene. Continue via Voss to Bergen to return the rental car and overnight accommodation in a centrally located hotel.
